Fire Sprinklers Leeds
Leeds based fire protection specialists, Armstrong Priestly, are market leaders in the fabrication, design, installation and servicing of fire sprinklers nationwide.
Our most popular clients are commercial and industrial businesses, but we operate in all sectors of the fire sprinkler industry. We have a dedicated residential department that ensures fire protection in homes and apartment buildings, as well as experience with installing systems in over 200 educational institutions.
We provide an end-to-end service that extends beyond the installation of your fire sprinklers. We offer testing and maintenance assistance that will prolong the life-span of your system and ensure its effective operation for decades to come.
Our on-site staff are trained in a selection of different skills, enabling them to meet our clients’ requirements no matter the type of fire sprinkler installation.
Proof of the quality behind Armstrong Priestley products is in our commitment to Third Party Certification. Armstrong Priestley maintains LPCB Level 4 Certification for commercial and industrial fire sprinkler systems and FIRAS Certification for Residential and Domestic fire sprinkler systems.

Here at Armstrong Priestley, we tailor every sprinkler system to the building it will be installed in. This is done by our in-house design team, who are fully accredited by both LPC and Firas.
Each project poses a new challenge in terms of design, but our qualified designers have the experience to meet any requirement. With over 40 years in the industry, Armstrong Priestley has covered a wide range of sprinkler applications in every sector. From schools to aircraft hangers, we have done it all.
Our fire sprinklers are designed to meet current British and global standards, including military, energy from waste and residential standards.
Our Head Office in Leeds is fitted with its own on-site fabrication facility that allows us to closely control the quality of our sprinkler systems and provide a start-to-finish service.
The workshop facilities include a welding department capable of welding up to 18” diameter tube, and a spray booth that can finish pipework with a coating suitable for any setting.
We are able to monitor the standard of the materials we use and ensure that we always have enough stock to meet upcoming deadlines.
The fabrication department works in tangent with the project management and installation teams so that we are able to operate effectively and adapt to our clients’ needs.
Armstrong Priestley not only designs and fabricates bespoke fire sprinkler systems, but we have a qualified team of technicians whose job it is to install them. Our service is comprehensive, supporting clients from the first fire sprinkler stages to post installation maintenance. This also means that we are able to oversee the entire project and maintain a tight grip on quality control.
Servicing your sprinklers on a regular basis ensures that they are working properly in the event that a fire actually does break out. It is a necessity that is often overlooked, but statistically, zero deaths occur from fire in buildings with functional sprinklers.
Armstrong Priestley provides a bespoke service, tailored to the requirements of your site and system, even if we did not install it ourselves. We will draw up a unique service plan that will keep your sprinklers operational and increase their life-span.
Public and Private Sectors:
We work within the industrial and logistics sector to provide fire sprinkler systems that are suited to warehouses and other large scale storage or industrial buildings. These include both new build and retro-fit projects. In the majority of cases, a pump and water tank must also be installed.
We have taken part in a great variety of projects in this sector, from mezzanine extensions to fully automated storage systems. We are one hundred percent adaptable to each unique installation.
Projects in the commercial and manufacturing sector typically cover offices, hotels, fire stations and production facilities, including food production. We can fit out existing buildings or provide installation in new build developments. A full pumped water supply is usually required, but in rare cases we have used the town mains. We can find a solution to every situation.
We have seen dramatic changes in this sector since the growth of online shopping, but Armstrong Priestley still has valuable services to provide to high street retailers. We have worked with shopfitting specialists to provide fire protection in high profile shopping centres and retail stores across the UK.
Protecting property and life, Armstrong Priestley supplies residential properties with fire sprinklers designed to the relevant standards, including but not limited to BS9251 and EN16925. These types of sprinkler system can be fitted to any residential dwelling. We have facilitated installations in one-bed apartments and family homes as well as entire high rise apartment blocks, student accommodation, care homes and sheltered housing.
Our residential department is on hand to guide clients through the process from beginning to end, ensuring that they receive the support they need. Additional fire safety can be added to existing buildings where sprinklers are not in place. Sprinkler systems are a great way of passing safety requirements for home improvements such as open plan spaces of loft conversions.
Fire safety in schools and universities is essential, especially in light of more frequent arson cases and accidental fires in student accommodation. Armstrong Priestley has been supplying this sector since 2000 and has worked closely with local authorities to develop an effective sprinkler strategy that can be adapted to other municipal buildings.
We have worked mostly as contractors on projects of this type. Contracts are mainly let through the M&E market which has invested in technologies such as BIM 3D modelling that allow for higher levels of coordination and efficiency.

Leeds is the largest city in West Yorkshire and is the nucleus of the City of Leeds Metropolitan Borough. Leeds itself grew from a small manorial borough in the 13th century to a major manufacturer and trade centre for wool in the 17th and 18th centuries. The town expanded further as the Industrial Revolution brought with it iron foundries, engineering works, printing and other industries.
Today Leeds is known for some of its notable landmarks. The Victoria Gate shopping centre is a fine example of a modernised Victorian arcade with a beautiful domed glass roof worth seeing. Leeds corn exchange is a further remnant from the Victorian era with a circular domed design. Leeds’ Grand Theatre houses the only national opera company located outside of London and its Royal Armouries Museum possesses the UK’s official collection of historical arms and armour. Leeds is also home to the University of Leeds; a prestigious Russell Group university that ranks high in the league tables.
