Fire sprinkler systems from Armstrong Priestley
We are a UK market leader in automatic fire suppression systems using fire sprinklers. Sprinkler systems are used worldwide and are a highly effective means of fire suppression.
We design, fabricate, and install fire suppression systems and offer ongoing maintenance and service options to ensure sprinkler systems are kept in excellent condition.
Which type of sprinkler system is best for my premises?
Your fire sprinkler system design will depend on several factors, including the size of your building and the number of occupants. These factors will affect the number of sprinkler heads used and the type of fire-suppressing agent used.
We use the expertise gathered over fifty years of providing fire suppression systems to give our clients the best fire protection possible for their premises.
How do fire systems with sprinkler heads work?
A fire sprinkler system is an active fire protection system in which heat-sensitive sprinkler heads disperse a fire-suppressing agent in the event of a fire.
Direct systems suppress the fire in the immediate area only, while indirect systems activate fire sprinklers in the broader region to prevent the fire from spreading to vulnerable areas.
Depending on the nature of your business and the business assets you are protecting, we may recommend a combination of the two systems.
Different types of fire suppression products
We offer clients a range of fire suppression systems for critical areas and specify the best fire suppression agent for each context.
The most frequently used suppression agents for critical areas include the following:
Water mist systems
Water mist systems are popular with clients in all sectors, but cannot be used in areas at risk of electrical fires. Our water mist systems enhance water quantity by distributing it in tiny droplets for maximum cooling.
Chemical gas suppression systems
Our chemical gas systems, such as NOVEC 1230, are environmentally friendly, can be used in occupied spaces, and leave no residue. A key advantage is that only a small amount of agent is required to suppress fires, leaving a small footprint. These qualities make chemical suppression agents suitable for various contexts.
CO2 fire suppression
CO2 can be used in many ways for fire suppression.
Due to it being hazardous to people, it tends to be reserved for unoccupied areas.
It is superior to gas suppression if you need a system for total flood, such as generator rooms. It can also be deployed for “local areas”, such as high-risk areas or process machinery.
Inert Gas Suppression Systems
Inert gas suppression systems, such as IG55 or IG54, will not endanger your building’s occupants, and because they are colourless, they will not impede the building’s evacuation.
Inert gas fire suppression agents are safe for any protected area.
Aerosol fire suppression systems
We offer aerosol suppression systems with the latest FPC compound. This creates rapidly expanding, highly efficient suppression evenly distributed in protected areas.
Unlike gas or sprinkler systems, Firepro suppresses fires by provoking chemical chain reactions in the flames without depleting oxygen. FirePro is also compatible with a conventional fire alarm system.
